He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Furlong and Mary Furlong (Brainard); his wife Elizabeth Furlong (DeMond); his brothers, Clarence "Bud" Furlong and Wallace Furlong; and his son Michael Furlong.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ashley Fox (Amon Smith) and Benjamin Fox (Brie Rosecrants); and his great grandchildren, Payton Morawski, Blake Morawski and Bodey Morawski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Earl's name to the Nashville Fire Department Memorial.
