He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Root and Clara Mae Root; his son Brent Root (Robert Estes); and his granddaughter Brooklynn Root. He is survived by: his daughters, Debra M. Root and Stephanie Erens (Chase); his grandchildren, Taylor Root, Dylan Eacker (Lauren), Madison Root, Olivia Martinez, Chloe Martinez and Benjamin Burns; and his siblings, Debra K. Root, Rick Root (Marie), Tom Root (Yvonne), Randy Root (Terrie) and Ken Root. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
