He was predeceased by: his father Robert Hugh Slaughter Jr.; his stepfather Patrick Gene Rainbolt; and his grandparents, Robert Hugh Slaughter Senior, Daisy Wallace, Clyde and Emily Burrington (Hurd).

He is survived by: his mother Doris Rainbolt; his wife Geraldine Slaughter; his siblings, Wayne Slaughter, Robert Slaughter (Donna), Danny Slaughter, Sally Grant (Matthew) and Sarah Burke (Seth); his stepsisters, June Wildfong (Scott) and Samantha Lohman (Cameron); his nieces and nephews, Felicia (Brandon), Jessica (Mike), Ashley (Joel), Dan, Matt, Kelsi, Tori, Emily (Austin), Michael, Warren, Mya, Joshua and Mason; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Landon, Julian, Thea, Margaret, Olivia and Alaina.
