He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Balavitch and Helen Balavitch (Hayward); his son Stuart Balavitch; and his stepmother Eva (Sullivan). He is survived by: his children, Theresa Balavitch and Jason Balavitch (Melissa); his grandchildren, Abagael Balavitch, Olivia Balavitch and Peyton Balavitch; and his stepsiblings, Maureen Smith and Maurice "Butch" Smith.
