He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Ireland and Edith Ireland (Soncrant); his sister Sandra Taylor; and his former wife Donna Adair. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Reid (Jack) of Rockford and Sara Packer (Wes) of Muskegon; and his siblings, Raymond Ireland of Adrian, Jeff Ireland, Pat Johnson, Pam Smoke (Dennis) of Hudson, Barb Ireland (Bev Faulk) of Hudson, Denise Ireland (Jim Supples) and Linda Grant (David) of Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
