She was predeceased by: her parents, John Middlecamp and Rebecca Middlecamp (Harrison); and her sisters, Grace Monczynski (Victor) of West Bloomfield and Sharie Geeting of Fremont. She is survived by: her husband Wesley Van Dam; her children, Rebecca Boss (Bill) of Muskegon, Darnell Hutchinson (Kim) of Muskegon, Jack VanDam (Vicki) of Florida, Greg VanDam (Nathalie) of Muskegon, Terry Berson (Gary) of Muskegon, Michael VanDam (Cherie) of Muskegon and Steve VanDam (Deborah) of Florida; and her brother-in-law Bradley Geeting of Fremont. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Ruth's honor may be directed to Faith Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
