He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Bouwkamp and Ethel Bouwkamp; his son Gregory; and his brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Roger.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; and his children, Dawn, Marty, Tim and Cristine. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
