She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Rice and Johanna Rice; her husband Russell Staple; and her siblings, Sonny Rice and Mary Lou Reed.

She is survived by: her children, David, Joe, Mark (Chris), Mike, Christine and Jeff (Tricia); her grandchildren, Jami (Anita), Jennifer (Zach), Michael (Marianne), Thomas, Nathan, Aaron, Andrew and Monika; and her great grandchildren, Brittany (Tim), Ashley, Joshua, John, Hannah, Sarah, Ben, Isaac, Henry, Bryson, Morgan and Mackenna.
