He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey and Janet (Smalligan); his siblings, Don, Dirk, Pete, Marie, Lucille and Louie; and his nephew Paul Kleyn.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Kleyn (Vogelsong); his children, Melvin Vogelsong, Bernie Vogelsong Sr. (Stacey), Sam Vogelsong (Audrey), Michelle Hutchins (Paul), Linda Snider (Darren) and Melissa Genson (Brian); his grandchildren, Derek Vogelsong (Racheal), Bernie Vogelsong Jr. (Jill), Krystal Carpenter (Kurt), Carter Evans (Jessie), Joshua Maue (Stephanie), Nathaniel Maue (Grace Gabalis), Branden Maue (Alex Evans), Ashley Maue (Kyle Wiedemann) and Caleb Errgang; his great grandchildren, Bane and Leela Maue; his sister Carol Jackson (Robert); and his close friend Carl Lafay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
