Ackerman; his children, Linda Tillema (Glen), David Buit (Pam), Douglas Buit and Dan Buit (Angie Capuno); his grandchildren, Rebecca Yonker (Dave), Lee Tillema (Bridget), Brett Buit (Alyssa), Chad Buit (Melissa), Austin Buit, Devin Buit, Sam Buit, Sophie Buit, Zachary Buit and Bethany Buit; his sisters, Marilyn Bowen (Bert) and Karen Scraver; his grandson Robert Tillema; and his sister-in-law Jane Ackerman. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
