He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Shane Carnes (Raighlyn), Katrina Hines (Don) and Nicole Slootmaker (Robert Cook); his grandchildren, Ruth, Hunter, Katelyn, Claire, Elyse, William, Brayden, Bentley, Emma and Bryce; his father-in-law Stephen J. Klop (Ruth Ann); and his siblings, Dianne Clover (Harvey), Carl Jr. Carnes (Karen) of Riverview, FL, Steven Carnes (Dori) of Baldwin, MI, Pamela Neuman (Darrel) of Muskegon, MI, Susan Hollar (Tom) of Bitely, MI and Kevin Carnes (Tammy) of Muskegon, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
