It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Gowell of Muskegon, Michigan, born in Shelby, Michigan, who passed away on January 29, 2015, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Swanson and Olive Swanson (Vander Ven); her husband James W. Gowell; her grandchildren, Katie Gowell and Troy Gowell; and her siblings, Vernon Swanson and Marilyn Matthews.

She is survived by: her children, Calvin Gowell (Barbara), Anne Flutur, Roger Gowell (Kathy) and Lloyd Gowell (Jo); and her sister Joyce Fraser. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
