He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie German and Willie Ann German (Brown); and his siblings, Geneva, Willie Mae, Betty Mae, Arlester, Willy, Edward and Howard.
He is survived by: his children, Ivan Underwood, Lena Lang (Dwayne Lang), Lakeva Thomas and Elizabeth Jenkins; his grandchildren, Courtney Rowe, Aaliyah Lang, Ivana Underwood, Laila Sims and Kannon Sims; and his siblings, Elizabeth Govan, Lena Waldington (RC) and John German.
