With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nels Lamont Peterson of Muskegon, Michigan, born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, who passed away on September 3, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Peter and Beatrice Peterson (Schwass); and his son Scott Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Mearlene Hamilton (Micki); his children, Nels L. Peterson II and Michelle Peterson; his daughter-in-law Lisa Peterson; his grandchildren, Dillon Grimm (Amanda), Damon Grimm (Hailey) and Audra Peterson; his great grandchildren, Braiden, Kaizen, Isaac and Kennedy Grimm; and his siblings, Douglas Peterson (Frances) and Eldonna Lay.
