He was predeceased by: his son Terry. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his sons, Steve DeWall (Pam) and Jeff DeWall (Julie); his brothers, Corniel "Niel" DeWall and Bob DeWall (Judy); and his sister-in-law Sharon DeWall. He is also survived by six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
