She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Japenga and Elizabeth Japenga (Jorgensen); her husband James "Jim" VanderVelde; her son-in-law Michael Dexter; and her siblings, Robert, Donald, James, Helen and Ruth.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth VanderVelde (Vicki) and Cindy Dexter (Michael Schucker); her grandchildren, Ashely Strang (Chris), Brandy Clark (Christina), Kevin Dexter (Jenna), Matthew Dexter (Jillian) and Joseph Dexter (Bari); and her close friend Joanne Paprocki. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions in Margaret's name may be given to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
