She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Filipiak and Mary Filipiak (Glacz); her son Mark Slater; and her son-in-law Dan Rosema. She is survived by: her children, Louis Slater Jr. (Joni), Leon Slater (Nancy), Renee Rosema, William Slater (Margot) and Laura Slater; her daughter-in-law Lisa Slater; her sisters-in-law, Marjorie Filipiak, Marian Slater and Martha Saxton; and her siblings, Phillip, Norma Filipiak, Jerome, Gloria Filipiak and Raymond Filipiak. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
