He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard S. Bass and Wilhelmina L. Bass; his brothers, Milliard Jr., Ernest and Oliver; his great-niece Keilandrea Duncan; and his uncles, Noby Bass (Ella), Orivil Bass (Ethel) and Bernie Allen.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory D. Chapman, Demetri J. Chapman, Shanika N. Chapman and Judi L. Chapman; his grandson Daeion Q. Johnson; his siblings, Jacqueline Vines of Muskegon, Phonozell S. Bass of New Orleans and Ronnie R. Bass of Muskegon; his aunts and uncles, Willow Dean Allen (Muskegon), Pearl Mallory (Muskegon), Bobby Bass (NC), Rev. Mitchell Bass (TX), Pastor Isaac Bass (Carolyn) and Joe Bass; and his cousins, Jill R. Matthews (Muskegon) and Glen Pigged (Muskegon). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins.
