She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Simpkins; her parents, Warren Walsh and Kathryn Walsh (Preston); her parents-in-law, Thomas Simpkins and Nora Simpkins (Sissell); and her siblings, Rose Glore (Walsh), Walter W. Walsh and Wilbur James Walsh.

She is survived by: her children, Dawn Johnson (David) of Edmore and Douglas (Lil Springsdorf) of Muskegon; her grandchildren, Christopher Johnson of Denver, Timothy Johnson of Mount Pleasant, Tabatha Springsdorf of Muskegon, Jessica Pinkston (David) and Christina Springsdorf of Muskegon; her great grandchildren, Abigail Springsdorf of Muskegon and Lyric Springsdorf of Muskegon; and her sister Frances Griffis (Don) of Muskegon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary children and grandchildren.
