He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Petty; his daughter Shawniece Petty; and his siblings, Nancy, William, James, Robert, Diane, Lily, Edward, Darryl and Beatrice.
He is survived by: his children, Xavier Petty, Calvin Petty, Marvin Petty (Natasha), Derrell Petty and April Brooks (Brant); his grandchildren, Derrick, Carlos, Latrice, Rodney, Marquise, Byrson, Neonna, Zaina, Quin, Tazia, Ah'Lexus, Na'Jai, Brant II, Brooklyn, Brayden, Willie Petty (Gwen), Essie Petty and Donald Petty; and his close friend Tamesha Means. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the family.
