He was predeceased by: his parents, John VanderWal and Pearl VanderWal; and his children, Lee and Kathleen. He is survived by: his wife Robin Nielson; his children, Kyle VanderWal (Wendy), Kerry Sue Velding (Don) and Kenneth VanderWal Jr. (Becca); and his siblings, Bev Balas (Tom) and Robert VanderWal (Val). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
