She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Smith and Jesse Smith (Sweetman); her brother Robert; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Smith. She is survived by: her children, Linda Miller (Richard), Dan Cole (Catherine Walker), Randy Cole (Mary) and Mary Beth Cox (John); and her close friend Don Vanderlaan. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Although we haven't seen one another for several years, Julaine has always been special to me. When I started my new position as HR Manager at Technology Inc in 1977, she was one of the first to welcome me to Grand Haven. Since she worked for the Michigan Employment Agency we had frequent contact. Julaine was an outgoing, friendly person who it was a pleasure to be around. She always had a big smile and was the biggest sports fan I ever met! Our sympathy goes out to Julaine's family.”
