He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Wathen and Lilly Wathen (Berry); his wife Dorothy Schweihofer; and his children-in-law, Grace Wathen and Robert Grima.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Szura (Michael), Margaret Castillo (John), Mary Henman (Roger), Christina Doherty (Richard), Rita Smyth (Gerald), Joseph Wathen (Wendi) and James Wathen (Diane); and his brother John Leo Wathen. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
