He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Firlit; his children, Laurie Jansen (Philip) and Joseph Firlit (Angela); his grandchildren, Caroline Jansen (Marc Tremblay), Katherine Caverno (Stephanie), Steven Jansen, Calin Firlit and Jacob Firlit; his great grandchild Jack Jansen Caverno; and his brother-in-law Gerald Winicki (Sue).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A rosary was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 6th St, Muskegon, MI 49441).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church or the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
