He is survived by: his spouse Irene Tutak; his sons, John Jr. Strach (Kathy Oliver), James Strach, David Strach (Joyce) and Robert Strach (Jenifer); his grandchildren, Kristopher (Jen), Mike, Anna, Nickolas, Noah, Nathen Strach, Sarah Keyes (Ryan), Liz Stolz (Matt) and Ian Rose; his great grandchild Holden; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Strach and Mel Arnson; and his daughter-in-law Lauren Rose (Michel).
