He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cummings and Lossie Cummings (Sterling); and his wife Viola Sanders. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Brown (James), James Cummings, Jr. and Pammy Cummings; his sister Johnnie Hale; and his close friend Charlene Burr. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
