He was predeceased by: his parent Virgel Lawrence; his wife Audrey Mae Lawrence (Gardner); his son Phillip E. Beets; his mother Agnes Irene Lawrence; his brothers, Ernest Gene Lawrence and Bobby Ray Lawrence; his brother-in-law Glen Wagner; and his sisters, Louise Buie and Patricia Ann Woodruff.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Beets (Lisa), Greg Beets, Traci Miron (Chris) and Kevin Beets (April); his daughter-in-law Debra Beets; his siblings, LeRoy Lawrence (Pat), Leon Lawrence (Mariam), Frieda Sue Wagner and Bernice Arens (Jerry); and his sister-in-law Sheril Lawrence. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
