She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Morben and Gladys Morben (Braton); her husband Dr. Leon B. Scheerer; her sisters, Norma Jean Bennewitz (Bill), Shirlee "Pearl" Hamlin (Don) and Charlotte Nelson (Don); and her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Sturman.
She is survived by: her children, John "Jack" Scheerer (Surry), Ann Scheerer (Todd) and Benjamin Scheerer (Kathy); her grandchildren, Andrea Pangilinan (Ryan), Camille Sturman, NIcholas Sturman, Vick Scheerer (Effe), Jennie Rose Scheerer (Erik), Lilly Scheerer, Max Scheerer and Emmie Scheerer; and her stepgranddaughter Emme Pangilinan.
Gwen requested any memorials go to the Women's and Children's Fund of the Greater Muskegon Service League (https://www.muskegonserviceleague.org) and the Land Conservancy of West Michigan.
