He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Hovey and Julia Hovey (Burch); his wife Shirley Jewitt; his daughters, Dawn Masterston and Brenda Moyer; his brothers, Douglas Hovey, John J. Hovey and Terry L. Hovey; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Hovey.
He is survived by: his children, Russell Greinke (Sharon) of Kingsley, MI and Julia Wawrzyniak of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Gerry Greinke, Stacy Grienke, Eric Moyer (Angie) and Roxeanne Moyer; his siblings, Todd Hovey (Mary) of Rosebush, Rhonda Busch (Bob) of Traverse City and Cora Thielen (Dave) of Mt. Pleasant; his sister-in-law Beth Hovey of Rosebush; and his aunt Suzanne Moeggenberg (George). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
