He was predeceased by: his parents, Siebert Hines and Opal Snider; his siblings, Donna Clayton and Jerry Hines; and his wife Pauline Cihak.

He is survived by: his children, Gary W. Hines Jr. (Kathy) and Kristin Albanesi (Chris); his grandchildren, Derek Hines, Brennan Hines and Brianna Hines; and his great grandchild Amaya Hines.
