He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Epplett and Pauline Epplett; his siblings, Sharon Chapman and Mike Epplett; and his father-in-law Duane Strayer.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Epplett; his children, Lisa Epplett and Gary A. Epplett; his siblings, Randy Epplett, Rodney Epplett (Brenda) and Pam Smith (Scott); his mother-in-law Bette Strayer; his sister-in-law Lisa Helm (Joe); and his pet Tigger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
