He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrit Sr. Roossien and Coby Roossien (Johnston); and his sons, Carl and Gary. He is survived by: his wife Hazel DeBrie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
