She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Willie C Simpson and Ina Simpson; and her sister Katie Carter (J. W.). She is survived by: her children, Little Ethel Simpson (Warren), Shiree McMillian (Eric), Fredrick Simpson (Ameerah) and Barbara Simpson (Shawn); her grandchildren, Demarri, Deangelo, Janiyah, Maurice, Mariah, Austin, Enaysha, Deon, Warreon, Warrkeem, Kemontae, Davontae, Ariana, Deasia, Eric and Hope; her siblings, Betty Simpson (Earl), Helen White (James), Drucilla Jackson, Jackie Simpson-Chaplin (Billy), Martha Anderson, Martha Ann (Jessie), David Simpson (Paulette), Sylvester Simpson and Larry Simpson; and her close friend Janice Briggs. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
