Ephron William McCrary Obituary
Mr. Ephron William McCrary, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Muskegon, MI. Ephron William burst into the world on February 10, 1991, as an 8-pound preemie to proud parents Felicia Bright and Earl Camp McCrary Jr. in Muskegon, Michigan. He was happy and easy-going from the start. Ephron was an adored younger brother to Jason and Camp and a role model to younger siblings David, Felicia, and Alvin. He had a one-of-a-kind smile that brightened any room he walked into with a sense of humor to match.
Ephron had the uncanny ability to break the ice in any situation and bring laughter to all that surrounded him. He attended Reeths Puffer High School. Throughout his youth he was incredibly involved in sporting activities - he started with karate, then soccer, later moving into basketball, football, track & field, and wrestling at Reeths-Puffer. He also dabbled in the arts as a member of concert band and marching band always reminding you, "It's a tuba thing.". He was a proud member of The Children's Theatre Company dancing and lighting the imagination of kids across Muskegon.
Not only was Ephron a beloved teammate, he was also a cherished member of the Disc Golfing Community. He played in disc golfing tournaments around West Michigan with friends who quickly turned into family. No matter your hobby, Ephron always gave a convincing argument as to why discing was the better choice. Food was a part of Ephron's life from the time that he was young. He worked around West Michigan in a variety of kitchens as both a cook and a manager. He took his knowledge from his culinary experiences, enhancing the meals of friends and family, offering advice on the best ways to spice up their recipes, and how to cook their food to perfection.
Ephron transitioned into being a Bar Back at 20 Monroe Live combing his experiences and his developed intuition to perceive problems and solve them with ease. A hallmark of Ephron was that he was a true empath, feeling a deep well of emotions about the world around him. Ephron felt especially strong about his beloved family members that proceeded him in death. His father Earl, who he shares a striking resemblance to, his brother Jason, who he sought to protect, and his Grandma Wilma who always kept him in line.
Ephron will be deeply missed by many. In the spirit of love and friendship, we'd like to remind everyone on Ephron's behalf that "F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me, N is for anywhere, anytime at all down here with my best buddies.".
