She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley "Pat" and Lucy Matthews (Balkema); her husband William J. Johnson; and her siblings, Robert, Gene, Bernard "Butch" Matthews, Joyce Weersing and Marvella Freres.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kandi Macdonald (Alan) of Novi, Kelli Jullie (Jeff) of Grand Haven and Kerri Taylor (Mark) of Muskegon; her grandchildren, AJ Macdonald (Shelley), Dr. Jennifer Lyengar (Nick), Dr. Alissa Enzenberger (Wayne), Jamie Waite (Chris), Erinn Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Anna Jullie and Brittany Jullie; her great grandchildren, Kyla, Allie Macdonald, Theo, Madison Enzenberger and Gillian Lyengar; and her sister Pat Swain (Frank) of Bainbridge, GA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
