He was predeceased by: his wife Mabel Ann; his granddaughter Barbara Kersting; and his parents, Fred and Libbie. He is survived by: his children, Raymond Kersting, Donald Kersting (Kim), Gloria White (Joe) and Floyd Kersting (Tonya); and his brothers, Robert Kersting (Beverly) and Cecil Kersting. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
