He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVern Carlston and Virginia Carlston (Mavis); and his sister-in-law Jeanne Dexter. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughters, April Scanlon (Steve), Amber Davey (Jason) and Alicia Pauwels (Derrick); his grandchildren, Lydia, Claire, Mason, Athena and Hazel; his brothers, Bill Carlston (Marcie) and Mark Carlston; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Dexter (Mary Ellen), Dan Dexter (Lisa) and Karen Friend (Bill).

Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation (http://www.harborhospicemi.org) or the Big Lake Humane Society.
