He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Payne and Anna Payne (Buckner); his children, Vickey Warner and Randall Payne; his grandson Christopher Nyland; and his brothers, Bob and James Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Ogle Slater of Muskegon, MI; his children, Myra Nyland (Richard), Julie Crowell (Jake), Steve Payne, Donald Johnson (Patty) and Cory Slater; his mother-in-law Donna Dawe; and his siblings, Rose Currier (Bill), Bev Yff, Nancy Benes, Margie Lyons, Donald Payne (Vie), Paul Payne (Dee) and Larry Payne (Jan). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
