She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald L. Bates; her parents, Myrtle Kincade and Kittie Hill; and her sisters, Vivian Stoops, Linda Jordan and Irene Brandt.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Beets (Phill), Richard Strang Jr., Steven Strang (Deb), Carol Tucker (Joe), Robin Norwick (C. J.), Chuck Bates (Cherie), Rick Bates (Mary Jo), Sherry Bates (Jeanne) and David Bates (Janet); her siblings, Steven Rouse, Karen McClendon, Marcia Glackman, Lois Gallant, Kim Vanderwest and Helene Robinson; and her niece Carrie. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
