He was predeceased by: his son Leslie Benson; and his grandsons, David, Dustin and Anthony. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie (Lane); his children, Shawn Perkins (Jessica) of Jackson, Elizabeth Noble of Stockbridge and Russell Benson (Debora) of Maybee, MI; and his siblings, Sandra Taylor (Marvin) of Maine and Leroy Perkins (Diana) of Maine. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stockbridge United Methodist Church or Stockbridge Outreach.
