She was predeceased by: her father Gordon Gempel; her grandmother Ruth Irene Gempel; her sister Marsha Gempel; and her granddaughter Taylor Eidenberger. She is survived by: her mother Betty "Boop" Gempel (Murawske) of Mt. Pleasant; her husband Dr. Stephen F. Shugert of Mt. Pleasant; her son Russ Eidenberger (Andrea) of Mt. Pleasant; her stepchildren, Susan Franyo of Atlanta, GA, Catriona Schmidt (Douglas) of Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth Willingham (Field) of Atlanta, GA and Matthew Shugert of Pocatello, ID; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Drew and Thomas Eidenberger; her stepchildren, Ben, Kate Schmidt, Finley Franyo, Eli, Adam, Beck Willingham and Juliana Shugert; and her sister Cheryl Lear (Gary) of Columbus, OH..
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (1250 Watson Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
