She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglas Newkirk and Esther Newkirk (Shipley); and her sisters, Diane Gillespie and Sue Morrison. She is survived by: her daughters, Melissa Gross of Mt. Pleasant and Nicole Foltz (James Benaske) of Grand Ledge; her grandchildren, Kevin Gross (Alaina) of Beal City, Kyle Gross (Emily) of Mt. Pleasant, Kendall Gross (Allie) of Cheboygan, Mackenzie Foltz of Lansing, Hanna Foltz of Lansing and Easton Benaske of Grand Ledge; her great grandchildren, Arlo, Kalvin, Wren, Kaden and Leighton; her siblings, Michael Newkirk (Marcia) of Raleigh, NC and Lavonne Newkirk of Ann Arbor; and her close friend Jan Newman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She attended nearly every sporting event of her children and grandchildren until her affliction with Alzheimer's made it too difficult. As such, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimer's Association, in Teresa's name.
