She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Burt and Virginia Burt (Whitney); her siblings-in-law, Pat VanLiew and Kenna Jean Rauch; and her nephew Jeremy VanLiew.
She is survived by: her husband Gary VanLiew; her children, Amy Thering (James) of Mt. Pleasant and Tracey Cook (Chad) of Mt. Pleasant; her nephew Chris Darnell of Naples, FL; her grandchildren, Makaila Cook (Joe Risch), Alex Cook (Rose), Chris Cook (Cody Bunner), Nate Thering, Adam Thering and Ben Thering; her great grandchildren, Owen Cook, Layne Risch, Remi Risch and Oaklee Risch; her sisters, Sharon Opheim (Karl) of Bay City and Judy Burt of Remus; and her brother-in-law Ron VanLiew (Cathy) of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
