She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Shanahan and Hazel Shanahan (Thorpe); her husband Norman Rau; her son Eric Lieby; her sisters, Caroline (Warren Cole), Helen (Ivan Goffnett), Idella (Thomas Phillips) and Echo (Joseph Sliger); and her in-laws, Harold, Edna Rau, Walter, Edna "Doll" Rau, Stephen, Eileen Rau, Raymond, Sally Rau, Rose Marie, Richard Funnell, Margaret, Dale Noble, Donald, Gaye Rau, Ted Brownlee and Ted Bordeleau.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Griswold of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Rau (Karen) of Mt. Pleasant and Louis Rau of Traverse City; her grandchildren, Jacob Griswold (Cari) of Hastings, Philip Lieby (Briana) of Riverdale, Olivia Rau of Grand Rapids, Jonathan Rau of Boston, MA, Joseph Rau of Montclair, NJ and Erica Lieby of Mecosta; her great grandchildren, Ondreya, Desmond and Annalysa Griswold; her daughter-in-law Deb Lieby; her sister Sharon Bordeleau of Haslett; and her in-laws, Mary Irene Zeien (Fred) of Beal City and Gert Brownlee of Sanford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
