He is survived by: his daughters, Emily Hitpas and Courtney Hitpas of Mt Pleasant; the mother of his children Tina Sawyer of Mt. Pleasant; his sister Nancy Halbeisen (James) of Cornelius; his niece Lori Halbeisen of Huntersville; his in-laws, Thomas and Gloria Sawyer of Houghton Lake; his brother-in-law Mike Sawyer of Houghton Lake; his cousin Gayla Voss (Dolor) of Carlyle; and his aunt Francis Schnieder of Carlyle.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to honor Jim's love of animals can be given in his memory to HATS or to Dalis to The Rescue.
