He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Merchand and Karoline Merchand (Kriesche); his siblings, Joseph Merchand and Karolyn "Katy" Merchand; and his former wife Gayla Merchand.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Merchand (Cindy), Bob Merchand (Barb) of Hessel, Ted Merchand of Mt. Pleasant, Victoria Murphy (Chris) of Mt. Pleasant, Madonna Garret (Bill) of Weidman and Malissa Garrett (Delbert) of Weidman. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 8 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
