He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Zeien and Helen Zeien (Hauck); his brothers, Joseph, William, Herman and Richard Zeien; and his in-laws, Harold, Edna Rau, Walt, Edna "Dolly" Rau, Stephen, Eileen Rau, Raymond, Rosalia "Sally" Rau, Rose Marie, Dick Funnell, Margaret, Dale Noble, Norman, Pat Rau, Don, Gaye Rau and Ted Brownlee.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Irene; his children, Susan Millard (Robert) of Beal City, James Zeien of Traverse City, Donald Zeien (Melissa) of Beal City, Jane Warner (Chris) of Mt. Pleasant and Robert Zeien of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Megan Petersen (Michael), Alyssa Moomey (Drew), Shannon Donohue (MacKenzie), Kaitlyn Yeagley (Matthew), Kelli Zeien (Saraloni Troupe), Amber Mann (Duane), Tiandra VanHattum (Aaron), Larissa Fox (Adam), Erin Sowmick (Cory Mead), Nicholas Sowmick, Hazel Zeien and Jude Zeien; his great grandchildren, Maggie, Henry Petersen, Bennett, Adalynn, Graham Moomey, Forest Donohue, Ariella Mann and Austin Fox; his siblings, Steve Zeien (Joyce) of Beal City, Teresa Lorenz (Ron) of Beal City and Gerald Zeien (Chris) of Mt. Pleasant; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Zeien of Mt. Pleasant and Gertrude Brownlee of Sanford.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (2163 N Winn Rd, Weidman, MI 48858). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall (2765 W Beal City Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or School.
