He was predeceased by: his in-laws, R. William and Janice Horwood; and his grandparents, Norm, Martha Kaskinen, Levon and Mary Alice Grossnickle.
He is survived by: his parents, Randolph N. Grossnickle and Anne Marie Kaskinen Chapman; his wife Karen E. Horwood; his children, Sophia, Evan, Lydia and Emma Grossnickle; his stepfather Bert Chapman (Edisto Beach); his siblings, Nadine (Jackie Butts) and Marc (Bridget); his half-sister Amanda Cecilio; his sister-in-law Kimberly Bussell (Gary); his nieces, Hannah Kurtzman (Paul) and Nora Grossnickle; and his nephew Max Hofweber. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncle, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a scholarship fund to be held at Edward Jones (100 W. Main Street, Gaylord, MI, 49735, Christopher Grossnickle Memorial) in Chris' name to go to a student/athlete from a local high school.
