She was predeceased by: her parents, Early and Rosie; her siblings, Samuel, Early, Theopolis, Charles, Michael, Elizabeth Bursey and Vera Pickett; and her stepson Melvin Calhoun, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Calhoun; her children, Chelese Gibson (Darrick), Chavonne Calhoun, Lavelle Calhoun, Angelica Saldana (Emilio) and Lakeisha Calhoun; her grandchildren, Tashell, Darrick Jr., Alexander, Kazia Gibson, Robert, I'mari Pierson, Amaya, Amora, Emilia Saldana, Zaria and Ziair Morris; and her siblings, David Bursey, Vicki Porchia, Earlene McClain, Lennice, Annette, Anthony and Loretta Bursey. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and two goddaughters.
