He was predeceased by: his sister Grace; and his grandchildren, Michael, Allen, Stacey and Stephanie.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth; and his children, Jerry, Meg Akins, Theresa McPherson and Laura Adams. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
